I’ll Go First… ✨ Let’s Get to Know Each Other - It’s been a while and lots has changed…

You may have joined me on this journey at the start, somewhere along the way or you might even be new here!

As it’s been a while and lots has changed I wanted to take a moment to properly -re-introduce myself and share a little behind-the-scenes peek into my world.

I’m Kirsty, the creator behind Kirsty Gadd Textiles, and I’m so glad you’re here on this journey with me!

I’ve always believed that design should come from the heart—inspired from the things that bring joy, the moments that make you pause, the beauty in the everyday. My biggest inspirations come from nature 🌿 and those fleeting ‘glimmers’ ✨— whether that’s a beautiful flower, the way sunlight bounces of rippling water, frost in the winter, warm snuggles with special pets, or a quiet moment with a cup of coffee

I’m a country girl at heart, so the outdoors, gardens, golden sunsets, and afternoon walks all spark my creativity. Designing my collections isn’t just about patterns—it’s about storytelling, emotion, and capturing a little magic in every piece. My goal is to bring a little magic and joy into your life with every design.

After pressing pause for a few years, I’m ready to take a new direction, I’m excited to have you here to share all the ups and downs, tips and tricks, sad times, good times, successes and failures!

I knew from the age of 6 that I wanted to work with textiles and fabric.

I’m absolutely obsessed with beautiful baby clothes & little girls clothes - I love dressing my little girl.

After leaving college at 18, I moved to a big city, but always knew I’d return to Somerset to raise my family. I’ve lived in Taunton (Somerset!), Birmingham, London, Cardiff, Bristol, Cirencester (Cotswolds), and now I’m back where it all began. ❤️

I’m ridiculously faddy with food. I’ll eat the same thing every day for six months… then never touch it again! (Also, I’m gluten-free and pretty much vegetarian, making me perhapsnot the easiest dinner guest 😅)

Being creative isn’t just a career it’s a way of living, existing and seeing the world.

Coffee is my best friend - don’t even try and get anything intelligent out of me until I’ve had coffee.

I’m 5ft 1.5inches and have size 3 feet. Same height as Kylie Minogue! (Sadly, no pop-star talents—but I make up for it in fabric swatches and floral prints!)

I thought I had direction in life, then I had my daughter—and suddenly, everything started to fall into place. She’s my world. Motherhood shifted everything

I’m so messy - I like to think I’m tidy, but it’s organised chaos. Everywhere.

I’ve got a bit of a Mini obsession! 🚗 I’ve had three cars in ten years—and every one’s been a Mini. Are they the most practical choice for family life? Not even close. But will I ever get a bigger car? Absolutely not. I love driving—and nothing makes it more fun than a Mini!
